2026 Is the year of the wizard!
You know how people sometimes choose a word for the year? I thought that might be fun.
It came to me while I was making the January spreads for my new bullet journal.1 I wanted a blue color scheme, and wizards, as we all know, are blue (sometimes they're purple, but that's basically blue). And I thought, wouldn't it be interesting to set up a guiding archetype for myself this year? And wouldn't a wizard be the perfect one for my life now?
It has enough whimsy to keep me motivated, but it's also practical in that a wizard is typically very diligent, even if what he pursues seems silly or strange. If I'm ever lost on what to do this year, all I have to think is "What would a wizard do?" or "How could I be more like a wizard?".
If I like it, I'll come up with another archetype for 2027 when the time comes. I'm curious to know if anyone else is doing this or something similar, whether it's the year of the wizard for you, too, or if it's some other archetype or principle you meditate on for the whole year.
